Y'know what's not nice? Colonizing other people's land ¯_(ツ)_/¯
right? But we cant change the past
Canadians have become aware of our colonial past and are working to correct it with Indigenous Canadians
Don't get me wrong, that's great! But how extensive is that work, when it comes to truly writing the wrongs of settler-Colonialism? That's a really big traumatic scar that impacts every area of a country's political life and institutions. Pointing that fact out, instead of treating Canadian white supremacy as somehow "new", isn't just some rude bummer of a take.
We need to help our Indigenous communities regain their pride and culture, while also collectively embracing a shared Canadian identity
starting with ensuring clean drinking water, access to quality education and health care services and a joint recognition of our shared pasts and futures
That's all very cool, do you have any info on initiatives doing this work in Canada, that I could read?
no, but your search algorithm of choice will
Nah man, telling me to do the leg work for you sucks actually.
You said:
Great! Show me! Back that up!
no shill, you are discussing this in bad faith
get fukt
Buddy...asking you to back up you're claim isn't bad faith. Are you fucking stupid?
I genuinely want to know about the things you're claiming, and you won't pony up the information. I'm not the one acting in bad faith. I responded to you, and pressed you, because you called another poster, who rightfully pointed out Canada's status as a settler colony, "not nice". If anything, trivializing the problem of Colonialism like that is what's bad faith here.
