Does anyone know how to block exe and scr downloads in Sonarr? permalink fedilink source hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] ItsNotImportant24@lemmy.ml 12 points 3 months ago* Go into your torrent client like qbittorrent settings and you can enter unwanted extensions, *.scr, *.exe, etc. Same if you use a usenet downloader like sabnzbd or nzbget. Then if sonarr or radarr attempt to download an unwanted extension your torrent downloader will not download it. permalink fedilink source parent [–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 months ago (1 child) How is it even downloading that? Wouldn't the sonarr quality profiles grab an actual video file? An exe has no resolution for instance. Also in my case most video files are transpiled automatically so jellyfin has to work less when serving, so the transpiled would fail. Shit would never run unguarded. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] JebanuusPisusII@szmer.info 1 point 3 months ago (1 child) It doesn't run, but it is downloaded and seeded to other potential victims. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 point 3 months ago Okay, understood, you would indeed be promoting the malicious file even though it wouldn't be an issue for you personally. Then agree with the other comment, block it in the torrent client directly. permalink fedilink source parent [–] heyixen815@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 2 months ago Not necessarily block, but it will clean them up and blacklist them.
