In short its a structural psychological feature of late stage capitalism imo. Sometimes its understandable if someone gets sick, like there's one dude with very obvious kidney stones if he misses, well he gets a pass since I found one the size of a pea before, another person eats a very poor high fat diet and blows up the bathroom near every day etc, another pass. Now the 'aritst' types make me think of zoochosis where you'd see animals in zoos behave profoundly unnaturally and psychologically unsoundly, I think cube farms are so oppressive and such a recreation of the panopticon along with so repressive of basic human instincts the bathroom is the only place they can be somewhat themselves for 2s supposedly unmonitored and have a forebrain/amygdala breakdown, they no longer gaf about the Kevin/Karen/whoever in the next cube flipping out writing lengthy emails to get the artists termed, even less about poor tamagotchi making a quarter above min wage who has to clean that and all the other joyous messes in 4hrs or else.
