Don't be (too) ashamed. What's the slop you're getting into this week? Games, movies, tv shows, etc.

I'll go first I suppose. I'm watching Burn Notice. I'm on season 3 episode 3. Some of the dialogue is so painful I'm embarrassed to watch it but then I power thru it and finally get to a high quality action scene. Former spy works w former girlfriend, his mom, and a fair weather friend to solve some problems in sunny Florida. It's completely believable and socially redeeming.

So let's hear it.

Outlander, the endless sad violins and bag pipes. The only thing that really bothers me with this one is the endless SA stuff. Otherwise it's definitely slop that has gone downhill hard from the first two seasons.

I remember watching some of this show because my wife was into it, and being sorta shocked at how much SA there was and how gleefully the show revolved around it.

I dropped it after the first seasons because of this as it was resufracing trauma for me. We got back into it with my partner now largely because there is nothing escapist out there to watch that isn't depressing or dystopian and we ran out of Star Trek. The SA stuff has just gotten worse as the show goes on. The show is also so weird about sex, there seems to be a soft porn scene in every episode, like it's a mandatory part of it. It's pretty cringe.

But the SA is genuinely on a different level, like the show tries to be schocking like GoT in all the worst ways. Definitely not great, very triggering.

Meanwhile the story has gotten very AmeriKKKan settler loving and yeah, it's the sloppiest slop. Would not recommend.
