Last i checked it is a "giving money to the robber in order to not get stabbed" situation.
That's just puppeteering. There isn't a difference between that and a socdem government that gives the wealth of national resources to a foreign state.
what it takes to defend the country
What it takes to defend the country, its sovereignty and its political autonomy is willingness to die for the revolution. Delcy does not have that, and so what you've got is something no different to a socdem imperialist comprador political situation. Spinning that as "she has no choice" is harmful. Maduro could have done the same thing as her. Maduro was willing to die for it. Maduro will die for it. She is unwilling to do what he was willing to do.
Socialists truly committed to defending their political project should be willing to die for it. That's what we're up against.
I'm hopeful that Cuba is going to be like Iran and they're going to fight for it. I am not looking forwards to the death that will cause but the alternative is conversion of the socialist project into a comprador socdem project instead.
The US strategy right now is eliminating political leadership followed by asking the next leadership if they are willing to die for it or become their puppets. The only option is to fight or see the end of socialist projects.
