Capitalism only works in a finite world if there's a catastrophic economic hardship for 99% of the population every 5 to 10 years just to ensure the working class doesn't achieve too many gains. Sadly as tech gets faster so does the speed and frequency. We are experiencing about one ever 6 years currently, even with us exporting a large about of the death and destruction.
