I mean there will always be a social bias affecting science since it is done by humans who live in a particular society. But the range of restrictions can certainly vary a lot, and it's pretty certain that fascists will have a far more narrow range of fields people are allowed to explore. We can already see this starting to happen with stuff like climate science, forestry, and other important fields being shut down.
