The meaninglessness of Vision Zero pisses me off so much. It's a pre-emptive self-congratulatory exercise for a goal that nobody is going to hit for as long as cars around, followed by nothing fundamentally changing. It basically boils down to "if we get close to midnight on December 31st and nobody's been smooshed by a car yet, I'm not going to leave the party early to run over somebody to bring it to one."
