Doug Ford keeps on getting reelected, his brother was the mayor of Toronto despite the drugs and overall unseriousness... I mean why do people elect these guys? Is it for the memes and laughs?

I'm being totally serious when I ask this btw. What does the average Doug voter's rationale for getting this guy in office? Same with former Rob Ford voters. Who voted for Rob Ford? Why?

Edit: TLDR of the answers seem to be:

  • Horrible effect of fptp, vote split between liberals, ndp and the greens
  • Low voter turnout

Fair point. I guess I'm just surprised he didn't go full anti-mask, anti-vax, inject bleach, horse de-wormer conservative.

    Trump actually never did any of that. Injecting bleach was a reddit tale like JD's couch fucking.

    Again, you guys just play postman. He said the idea of injecting "disinfectant", which was a idea from Stanford MDs, and he said it would have to be done my medical doctors.

    Somehow Reddit turned it into bleach. Trump was just telling people what 'experts' were telling him. There was a lot of medical quackery during COVID from MDs pretending to be scientists.
