Are you serious? Because if yes, then you played not enough. The first act is like a dating visual novel. After that point, it's not. Still it stays a visual novel and that won't change but it's not dating. If you need a non story spoiler to know when the point is reached:

The game resets to the main menu after a scene and it looks like it begins from the beginning but you notice it's different. Thats the point where it changes.
Of course a visual novel is a different kind of game and I usually don't like it, as its mostly reading, with a few choices. Its like reading an interactive book with a few visuals.
