eh, every time i've heard him show off his expertise, it turned out he knew less than me and i'm nowhere near an expert.

he's definitely read the silmarillion (probably a few times at least) but that alone isnt much.

    Shame about Hansi doing that collab with Jon "Jonuary 6th" "Anti-Semitic Banking Conspiracy 'Theorist'" Schaffer, but otherwise yeah they do.

    It was a two-album side project that combined members of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth (called "Demons and Wizards"), and in Hansi's defense, it wasn't widely known that Schaffer was a megaCHUD at the time. I don't know of any other Hansi-adjacent controversy beyond that, but I haven't exactly gone looking either.
