Wait they did a lore dump and didn't give you the basics that you can find in a computer terminal at the very start of the game?

The universe is dying, whole solar systems just disappear. The last of humanity is like a few hundred people on a space station. Protag is a a political prisoner imprisoned after a riot who's meant to help do research to serve the sentence but there's an implication they're purposefully killing people on suicide missions to thin out the population iirc.They send you to the blood planet because they detected life in the ocean and they're trying to find any remaining life they can to figure out what the fuck is going on.
There's like interesting story telling they could do with that context too did they really do a 2 hour movie in just the sub? Whaddahell?
