I mean, it depends what your definition of leftist is, all the communists I know here in the UK have been very much against the invasion.
Seriously. Can we stop using "western left" to mean fucking liberals? Cause that's what these people are. That's who is saying this shit. Not anyone with an actual leftist ideology. It's like we just decided there two different meaning for "leftist" just because there's so few of them in the west. Liberals aren't left. Like what are we supposed to call actual "leftists" in the west then? If someone has the same ideals as an "international leftists" and is in the west, what the fuck are they? Just a leftist? A leftist that exists in the west? It's getting very tiring. If someone is spouting liberal nonsense and calls themselves a leftist, then they are an idiot and/or lying.
This is why i have mostly stopped using the term leftist and now just distinguish between liberals and socialists. The two are fundamentally incompatible and so should not be lumped in together. It is much clearer what is meant when we say socialist as opposed to the vague "leftist" label. (And by socialist i mostly mean communist, but socialist is just a more palatable term for the normies, and since the goal of socialism is communism anyway i just use the two fully interchangeably in casual discourse.)

They usually mean breadtube-adjacent leftsphere celebs (Mamdani, Hasan Abi, Miss Rachel, TrueAnon, etc...)

Google the term, "Westen left ideologies." I don't think a principled communist is a western leftist.
