that's cheap. how much did you think it should cost?

it might have been way cheaper if she didn't get insurance. that usually adds 30-40% to the cost

    I guess I am just way out of touch. read: too poor to rent a car.

    That amount is still crazy to me. A rental car pays for itself in less than a year!

    prices vary wildly according to demand. rental cars at airports are often 2x the cost of the same car a few miles away. same with time of the rental, renting on a holiday weekend is going to be 3x the cost of renting on a Tuesday in February.

    that same car your friend rented for a week is probably 300 bucks a week in a different location. the rental place near me starts at about 50 a day. at my airport they are closer to 100-150 a day.
