If your teacher couldn't draw a line from the Protestant Revolution to English and Dutch Protestant movements straight to the birth of Anglican Church and from there the Schism of protestant ideals in England and their fleeing to America then they might not have been as good a teacher as you think they are. Or maybe you just didn't pay very good attention.
