Looks like we upset a few too many kkkanada residents over at lemmy.ca. I didn't see a post about this on here, so I thought I'd go ahead and make one.

2 of 4 reasons why are basically just PPB lol, and a third is for calling for executions of landlords mao-aggro-shining

TLDR: if you want to know if an instance will defed hexbear, check its instance block list for lemmygrad.

been making stray comments here and there about this, I'm telling y'all if an instance defeds lemmygrad it is 1000% going to defed hexbear, we're calmer and more solitary than y'all, so all the accusations of trolling or brigading or just generally being "ebil tankies" against the grad can and will be used against hexbear too. I fully expect .world to defed lemmygrad in the next couple months too once they're finally got their shit under control. Is what it is, hopefully normal users still manage to find us and switch to instances that aren't ran by anticommunists.

This. I was surprised to find that they were even federated with hexbear. Lemmy.ca was on my shortlist of instances to join when I was moving to Lemmy. Blocking lemmygrad was reason enough to find a different instance.

I feel like we sometimes overstate the we are calmer/polite/respectful part. There was a hexbear user telling another hexbear user that our emojis in federated communities were a little disruptive (because they are really big) and they apologized, but another user replied to them with a ppb lol

They're from lemmygrad and saying that lemmygrad is the calmer one, from my reading. Also, lemmygrad added pronouns? Based

I do see that lemmygrad is more aligned to some ML types, while hexbear is a bit wider, which does make for a difference. But it doesn't seem the strain of communism is the main problem for the de-federating people.

However we have a more diverse set of opinions in our user base, since we don't ban people that quick (i.e. in terms of war in Russia we have some revolutionary defeatists, some anti imperialists who favour a weakening of the imperialist NATO (which really irks other instance admins, etc.).

To moderate a sub sub sub comment of a main thread is a bit funny though.
