I'm not quite sure which I despise more, AI or German dubbing. permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [β] PurpleTentacle@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago Give it time, I'm sure we'll soon have both. permalink fedilink source parent [β] silver13@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 child) Hard disagree. While they are worse nowadays due to tighter budgets and schedules they elevated several otherwise mediocre movies so much back in the day. There still are some legendary voice actors i love to listen to. It creates an unique experience different from the original. AI on the other hand... hate it. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] remon@ani.social 1 point 1 year ago* (1 child) I'm sorry, but I have to hard disagree right back. You can argue that dubbing made movies available to a wider audience .... but no movie was ever "elevated" by German dubbing. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] accideath@lemmy.world 1 point 1 year ago (1 child) Have you ever seen a Bud Spencer movie? Theyβre straight up not even half as funny in the original language. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] remon@ani.social 1 point 1 year ago Well, those are kind of weird because they don't really have an original language. They were even dubbed in English. permalink fedilink source parent
