Sure, it's making fun of chuds, but there was so much winking to its lib audience ('you'd be one of the few looking up, right? Right? At least YOU are one of the smart ones' ) without ever exploring what lead to people not looking up, no systemic critique or analysis. A typical lib circlejerk about how they're better than anyone else. Idiocracy does the same.
