Personally I'd recommend installing in this order:
- Packages from your distro's native repository.
- Flatpaks from Flathub (please avoid Fedora's Flatpaks).
- AppImages/Debs usually provided on the app developer's site.
- The Arch User Repository (AUR) if compatible.
- Tarballs.
- Ubuntu Snaps.
- Fedora Flatpaks.
