I'm sorry, why am I just hearing about "Voice of America" for the first time? If it is publicly funded, why isn't it also broadcast within the USA?

I understand that's not its purpose, but if it's being created to broadcast/distributed to the world, then why can't we do that at home too? I'm so confused.

I think if most people read VOA they would start thinking about American propaganda differently, when it's done by MSM it's a lot less crude than what VOA is pumping out, funnily enough they are one of the few places to have a mastodon account

https://mastodon.social/@VOANews

they also publish in like 50 different languages

https://www.voanews.com/navigation/allsites

VOA is analogous to any other state media ie RT, CGTN (not debating that VOA's credibility/accuracy vs them)

it's reporting that aligns with the interest of a certain business/political class that is funding it and most Americans would rather just read corporate MSM media than American state affiliated media so they don't bother reading it
