Don't constitutional amendments require a supermajority to push through?
Seriously? The guy is getting presidential advice from "out the window" Putin.
Who will stand against it when opposition members are being locked up.
I hadn't even considered that...
If his plan is to fire tens of thousands of civil servants, district justices, etc and place his own loyalists into office, then there is a very real chance he can legally intimidate the Democrats into passing constitutional amendments.
He literally only needs the Supreme Court and Congress
Pass a blatantly unconstitutional bill and make the SC call it constitutional. That's all that is required.
He has stated that he wants Musk to come in and literally fire everyone.
He's already got the Supreme Court to allow him to assassinate opposition.
Even if he doesn't, its a very dark path being trod.
What's stopping him from doing a Nayib Bukele, calling a state of emergency, mobilising the armed forces and using them to coerce the House and Senate into passing laws?
Nothing?
He has options?
Honestly the way he has treated people like shit, he could reasonably use the excuse that there could be civil unrest.
Well, I guess ultimately that's up to the courts to decide.
