"A cure for cancer" is such a magical nonsense phrase. We can already cure a lot of cancers. There are tons of people living healthy lives after surviving cancer. And we know more and more about how to prevent it (like not smoking). But they want magic.
Even bigger nonsense is the claim that AI will solve global warming. We already know the solution to global warming. We're just not doing anything with it, because of destructive business interests.
I am of course referring to the old joke where people deny the existence of the sequels. Not that I was aware of a fourth.
Yeah, that's Catholicism. They've got a couple of weird magical aspects to their faith. Protestants believe it's all symbolic. Not sure what Orthodox Christians believe about this.
I just heard the reasons for these tariffs is probably based directly on the ratio between trade deficit compared to total trade. A tiny island where almost nobody lives and that never trades with the US got into the highest tariff category because some American bought $3 million worth of sea food in 2024.
