“Suggest” and “could be used” are weasel words already. When they're spoken by researchers with no say in how the budget is spent, i cant help feeling sceptical.

More likely it gets lost into general revenue with only some big media buys and ad campaigns to show for it; (with message variations of “Govt good😀, Sugar bad☹️” )

The photos are deceptive - taken with long exposure. The bioluminescence is actually very faint. You need a dark night with no clouds to see them glow. I’ve seen them closer to Adelaide - in Marc Oliphant Conservation Park, Kuitpo forest and Belair National Park. If anyone is interested I can share exact locations.

I think people underestimate all the potential channels for lobbying. Try to regulate the obvious channels and lobbyists will slither just out of sight and influence the people you aren't watching.

Trading bribes and future jobs for introductions and influence is easy in a major political party with their powerbrokers and informal mates networks.

Solid suggestions but missed “lock food in the car or esky” At Mambray creek from our deckchairs, we watched a 1.5m water monitor ransack the campsite opposite us over half an hour. Ate scraps out of their firepit, Managed to get its front half into their food bag hanging on the camp kitchen with its tail whipping around in circles. It even licked a couple of their mugs on the table. The grandad came back and i told him to wash his cups because a goanna had been licking them. He just simpered and avoided my eyes as if i was crazy.
