People forget that all the people the Nazi's put in camps were also criminals. According to Nazi propaganda, they were responsible for the deaths of millions of Germans in WW1, for impoverishing hardworking Germans in the Great Depression and for terrorism in resistance to the Nazi regime.

No regime ever has admitted to locking up an innocent person. No dictator has ever said "Yeah, I put innocent people in jail".

This is why we have separation of powers. The executive branch has zero authority to call anyone a criminal. Only the independent court system has that authority.

I agree. Very much like Reddit in the early days.

Also, the level of civility and intellect in the comments is relatively high.

The point is to kill and torture these people. Calling them terrorists is a tried and true tactic.

They will call him Hamas whether he confesses or not and then say they killed another Hamas terrorist.

Here in the Netherlands, the government agency for housing has the figures on how many second homes people own, but refuses to publish it.

Journalists have estimated that the number is about equal to the number of people looking for a house. About 400K on a population of 18M.

The scarcity is artificial.

We (Europe) already did most of the heavy lifting for Ukraine. The US mostly gave old stockpiles of weapons that they would've needed to destroy anyway. We are the ones actually paying cash to keep them afloat.

The problem is, in the post-WW2 order, our defense and our defense industry was made dependent on the USA by design. And even up until last November, Europe didn't want to challenge this arrangement and just went full steam ahead with this arrangement, ordering US made weapons. I think Europe was in denial that Biden could lose or that NATO could ever end.

Only France, and to a limited extent, Sweden and Turkey, have independent defense industries.

In the future, we will have it again. And Ukraine will actually be a key player.

But in the short term, there is no magical button to press that can produce the arms.

Undoing decades of integration isn't going to be easy.

After the election win, I am no longer that certain in how bad of an investment Twitter was for Musk.

It probably helped the Trump campaign somehow, even if not decisive.

And he will probably get billions in AI subsidies which he will partially spend on licensing Twitter content for AI purposes.

The continuing American embargo on Cuba after the Cold War has always been toddler tantrum level of pettiness.

I thought Obama had finally closed that chapter, but I was wrong.

Because they manage to attract investment.

As long as investors are willing to give cash in exchange for equity, a company can operate on that cash and run at a loss.

Kamala Harris was born October 20th, 1964.

Gen X starts at 1965 and Baby boomers end in 1964.

You were this close Gen X....

Well, to be fair, he should have stepped down a year ago, or at least 3 months ago. I vaguely remember him saying he was going to be a 1 term candidate in 2020.

Anyway, I respect Biden. I honestly think he was a better president than Obama, Bush, Trump and Clinton. Perhaps the best since Carter or JFK.

If we gotta vote for a corpse, might as well vote for the best corpse.

When starting these meds, Euphoria is a common side effect.

It can still make a huge difference in your life, but the euphoria isn't permanent.
