There are very few Far Side cartoons that I can this about, but…

Do. Not. Like.

Wow, I had no idea this is what it's from! It took a few minutes for me to get the exact frame, but when I did, it was obvious. Thanks!

I just want to thank you for all the cartoons that you post. It's one thing I look forward to running across in my feed on Lemmy every day!

That's the problem, this wasn't a dog. This was a dog/wolf hybrid, which is more aggressive than a normal dog. That's one reason why this is national news. The article also says that there were more children in the home too, so the owner should be charged with multiple charges of child endangerment as well as manslaughter in the death of the baby.

This isn't just a dog attack story.

Musk must have come up with the idea. Wait, there's no $4.20 option, so maybe not.

While I like the sentiment, in reality I think it would do the same thing as it's doing on Reddit - turn Lemmy into a huge bot farm trying to get money from real users.

Okay, that makes sense. Maybe it's the Mandela Effect, but I swear I remember a cartoon where Bugs says "No" similar to how he's shown in the still. Maybe not (?).

This is off topic, but why isn't there an animated gif of Bugs Bunny saying the "NO"? I mean, we have animated gifs for almost everything else, but I only see this as a static pic. Can no one find the cartoon that this is from and create a gif from it?

That works a lot better! Thanks for the great work!

EDIT: Not to be greedy, but any chance you can add one more text size and go one notch bigger (especially for comments, which have a smaller text size than the post titles)?

Thanks, I’ll give it a go!

From the party of “Back the Blue!”

…except when it benefits us to roll them right under the bus.

Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?

Oh, it’s a banana? Ok…

I’d like to give Petal Maps a serious try, but for some reason it doesn’t work with CarPlay. So it’s a no-go for me.

I have a red circle with a “1” for a notification on the home screen, but I don’t have any unread messages. Any idea what’s causing it or how to correct it?

EDIT: I have 3 accounts added, but I’ve checked all 3, and there’s no unread on any of them.

I am a big NFL fan, and I found the instance nfl.community. It has a community for each team, as well as a general NFL community. I joined a couple of the communities through my lemmy.world account, but it sees no posts there. I know this instance isn't defederated from nfl.community, so why wouldn't I be able to see any posts? I don't understand, what am I missing?

EDIT: I just reread my post and realized that I didn't mention that there are tons of post on all the communities on this instance, but nothing shows when logged in through World.

SOLVED: So I had the chance today to reread through this thread and do some digging based on the replies, and I've figured out the issue. I went back and looked at nfl.communities, and it turns out that [email protected] is correct - all the posts on that server are by users that are from the alien.top instance. Those aren't actual users, alien.top just scrapes posts & comments from Reddit. So those aren't actual posts by Lemmy users, and, as can said, there wouldn't be any engagement from anyone on that server, because they won't see my posts & comments. Lastly, I followed a link can posted with bot rules, and one of lemmy.world's policies is "Bots shall not just be posting Reddit content", which is exactly what alien.top is doing. That explains why World is blocking all the posts from the nfl.communites server.

Thanks to everyone who responded and helped sort this out!

Maybe this is a Lemmy thing and not a Voyager thing, but sometimes in a comment thread there will be text that says “1 more reply” (or whatever the number is) like in the picture. No matter how many times I click it, it doesn’t open.

Is there a setting that I missed? Is there a reason that I just don’t know?

I've completely lost confidence in this team and Arthur Smith. We lost today to a Vikings team with a 3rd string quarterback who wasn't even on the team until midweek. Even with our offensive struggles, the defense has been standing strong this season, but today they allowed the Vikings to walk up and down the field, blowing coverages and missing tackles. It doesn't look like we can even win the NFC South, which is a dumpster fire of a division, and we're wasting the potential of some players who should be stars lighting up the league. Instead, we look completely incompetent.

I admire Arthur Blank's loyalty to his coach, but I don't believe Arthur Smith is it. He's supposed to be an offensive genius, utilizing a pounding running game, but his play calls are head scratching. When he should be running, he's throwing the ball, and vice versa. It seems like he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, doing what nobody expects, but it's not working. And this is the third year it's not been working. He's the one that stood by Desmond Ridder, and now that looks like a complete bust. He has to be the one held accountable, and it's time for a change.
