You're not obligated to give up your mod spot for the old Reddit mods. Most of them were "power mods" who moderated dozens of subreddits anyway. There's no need for that kind of power here, that's the whole point of being federated. Sure, you can add them to the team is you want help. But YOU created this community, don't just roll over and hand it off to someone who could have made a community here but didn't.
Showerthoughts
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- Posts must be original/unique
- Be good to others - no bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct
Last sentence is such a key point that needs to get hammered. Users here now get to start fresh instead of coming into an established ecosystem. You're the one who saw the value in the fediverse, not them. It's why a lot of people are interacting more and posting. Hell, I don't even mind "reposts" because they're not even reposts on this platform.
Not a mod from the subreddit but longtime showerthoughts member over there. Happy to help keep things rolling smoothly over here on Lemmy!
Have you reached them directly through Reddit? Maybe you can help them to get out the dark side.
Look at me. You are the moderator now. Welcome!
