Careful this is only one leap away from conservative talking points. They are convinced China is sending tons of fentanyl to cripple the US.

I once heard a guy convinced that the whole weather balloon thing was actually loaded with fentanyl and dusting the US with a fine fenty coating. Because that's how the Chinese were going to kill us or something

Horseshoe theory isn't broadly accepted. The Wikipedia page for it is full of academics pointing out how terrible it is as a model for understanding the far left and the far right, and this summarizes it well:

The horseshoe theory is not widely supported within academic circles; peer-reviewed research by political scientists on the subject is scarce, and existing studies and comprehensive reviews have often contradicted its central premises, or found only limited support for the theory under certain conditions.

The "stethoscope theory" is even less supported. Where on Earth did you get the idea that any of this made any sense?

I mean, what do you expect when there is a lot of religion in a country? Religion is the opium of the masses after all.

The colonizers relied on other nations to be rich. And the rich will flock again when the nation dies.

i'd agree to it but it reeks a whole lot of "moral¹ decay is gonna be the end of us" nonsense, and i can't have that.

[1] where "morality" is defined as being a good, productive, law-abiding citizen

All it says is “Addicted to opioids” you decided to read it that way, it’s really not that deep

Also even outside of the capitalist framework of needing to be law abiding or productive citizen a drug addiction is still harmful. It harms your socialization, your body, and your psyche. Like it's still not good for a person
