In this instance it's slop vs. slop though.

It looks like this works like an Android phone debloater, which have existed for a long time.

Making a script that uninstalls packages via Android Debug Bridge (adb) is trivial. The actual hard part of is knowing what can be uninstalled without breakage, which can only be figured out via trial and error.

At best, this rips off the hard work of people who did the trial and error, and at worst this just removes random stuff with literally zero testing.

I don't think fighting slop with slop will work, it just looks to me like you now have even more slop spreading even faster everywhere.

Its not even a full project, you need to slop it yourself. That's some bullshit.

Like I don't want to accept all this vibecoded stuff only for it to come out in a few months that this was all a PR stunt to make AI more accepted and fuck up opensource spaces

The best option is to not have your TV hooked up to a network, period. No Wi-Fi, no CAT cable.

Use a dedicated computing device via HDMI to handle anything a smart TV would do instead.

That's what I do, but I guess a lot of people don't have a spare computer to hook up to their tv.

I use an rpi4 running LibreElec (can also run LineageOS TV unofficial), but a 15yo ThinkPad would do as well or better. Though it would use more electricity.

Yeah, rpi is a good fit for this.
