It's extraordinarily naive to believe NetBSD is Ai-free & especially that it will remain so. No project with multiple contributors is, some do make an effort to hide it well enough though.

    cross-commented from https://slrpnk.net/comment/24863179:

Well, it din't exactly ban it, but it did set some strict and sensible restrictions. As a result, there is only a single AI-generated commit in the OS:

IlIt is a fairly large commit. However, it is dwarfed by the Linux kernel, which has thousands of slop commits.

BSDs will never catch up to linux because of their cuck licensing

Maybe not in popularity, but they're perfectly fine OSs. Probably close to ten years ago now, I ran FreeBSD on my desktop, and I was gaming and everything. It was just as functional as Linux was at the time. Things may have changed since then, but from my experience, I doubt for the worse.

"This post is hosted on beehaw.org which has higher standards of behaviour than most places. Be nice."

"If your first reply when we ask you to be nice to each other is to tell us to “fuck off”, we will respond in kind."

They have a cute icon, but yeah... no

Beehaw has problematic users? Like on average? I haven't seen that myself.

Beehaw is defederated with Hexbear and Lemmygrad.

Most instances are federated with Lemmy.ml (including yours), the only one I know of that isn't is Lemmy.cafe.

Seems like I am wrong. Why are we defeated again?

The only instance I know of that defederated feddit.org is dbzer0, is that the instance you were thinking of?

According to Beehaw's instances page, it is currently federated with feddit.org. Your comments showing up on beehaw itself, and the beehaw user responding to them with you able to see them, demonstrates that both instances are federated.

That other user appears to be misinformed.
