Interesting. What were Canada and the EU pressured with?

Edit: It's still being funded, apparently. Just the branding is gone.

EU officials, the Guardian understands, did not agree with the characterisation of the US as a disinformation actor.

Despite withdrawing its branding as an official supporter, the EU continues to fund the conference.

    The EU is in an unfortunate position coming into winter.

    It remains reliant on a traditional, key ally to get through the current situation/s. Now that ally is turning up the pressure for their advantage, they need long term planning mixed with short term diplomacy (a.k.a. ass licking).

    You can call the politicians that put it here what you want, but it doesn't change the situation.
