LG is a pretty bad fit given their horrid record around personal data mining on their TVs. I agree Apple should do this themselves…

    Apple shouldn’t be partnering with anyone for this. They should be building these on their own — setting up subsidiary like Claris to sell them under. It’s ridiculous what a fragmented mess the HomeKit landscape is, even with Matter.

    Cook’s Apple, and it is still firmly Cook’s Apple, assumes none of the risks and takes all of the profits.

    There has to be a way for Apple to jettison the whole operation if they don’t meet projected metrics every single quarter.
