Can't believe we didn't completely throw it away

[-] fap4jesus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

why the fuck did var send him to the monitor? clearly hit his head. also went behind for a corner but restarts with a dropkick? the officials are on a different level

[-] curgl@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That was horrid for my heart health

[-] Stonewalled89@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

One normal game Chelsea... Is that too much to ask?

[-] deception42@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Why wasn't that a corner after the VAR review

[-] fuckyouidontneedone@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What a performance down a man for a half, not pretty but we count those

[-] JiveTurkey688@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Aa refereeing display for the ages

[-] BloodyPants@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

what the in mother nature was that ending

[-] Littlegreenman42@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Craig Pawson deserves to never ref again

[-] Apache313@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bruh how they gonna give a drop ball and not a corner? No guarantee for sure but to rob them even of a chance?

[-] calel8242@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Never a pen, but a drop ball makes no sense. Announcers were totally right, such a farce.

[-] top1MIBRfan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

what the fuck were the refs on in the last 10 minutes, absolute carnage

[-] Headlesshorsman02@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[-] Rofocal02@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[-] BarbaricGamers@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pawson is a joke

[-] ChatSh1t@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

VAR and the field officials were absolutely shocking. I have no idea what the fuck just happened

[-] omkic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm actually so confused right now...

[-] cocaine_model@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Great back and forth game. Caicedo should’ve been off but I think the Mudryk pen was the right call

[-] akraft121@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just 15 more minutes and one less Chelsea player and Brighton may have nicked that

[-] KonigSteve@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm not saying they made any incorrect decisions, but the way the ref and var ref handled themselves is a farce

[-] DoX6ConorGallagher@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Most calm Chelsea game

[-] GOR098@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Quite the show for neutrals.

[-] Chapea12@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

VAR official: “yo, come watch this video. This guy gets totally nailed in the face. So funny…. Wait what were we doing? Um.. do a drop ball.”

[-] Mick4Audi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Somehow they can’t even get the basics right. Ball went off Colwill, long VAR check, somehow that’s a drop ball

Baffling

[-] iamGhostBuzz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pay up Di Zerbi that's what you get for complaining 🤣

[-] Tomstarkman@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And breathe...

[-] gopackgo555@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Another VAR and referring disaster class.

[-] darthrector@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Plucky midtable team holds on for a win with 10 men against wasteful top 6 team with Barcelona's former #10 in their ranks

[-] Hawkeye91803@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What a truly, truly, truly awful officiated game…

[-] Long-Island-Iced-Tea@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Someone please TLDR the drama. e: thanks all

[-] imarandomdudd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is it really a chelsea game if neither side feels exhausted and stressed by the end?

That was way harder fought than it needed to be, especially in a period where we have 3 games in just over a week. Still, hanging in there should be big for developing some of the players' mentality, especially after last week.

[-] yash_1310@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That last VAR check was interesting to say the least

[-] RaginxCanadian@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pawson is not at the level a premier league ref should be.

[-] Follow_The_Lore@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brighton about to get an apology. What an absolutely dog-shit referee.

[-] abnormaltruck@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The VAR confiscated the Brighton corner. LOL.

[-] ZebraQuality@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Never seen anything like it since the Tottenham game, officials doing their best to give the opposition a win, giving a corner for a shot that is miles wide we concede from, no red for Milner, then the most obvious head of all time sent for a review. Why is VAR so fucked for Chelsea and Wolves

[-] kaplanj23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

VAR: bro come look at how hard this rocks him in the face.

[-] SoWhatNoZitiNow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That was the most farcical bit of football I’ve ever seen at the end there. Absolute clown show.

[-] jasperplumpton@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He gave the penalty onfield (without much conviction) then the VAR review was to overturn it, which is why they started with a drop-ball

[-] IHAVEMOSWAGTHANJEBUS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ref & Var ball. What a shit show

[-] ClaytonWest74@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

today is absolutely disaster class by referee

so almost any other day really

[-] Ryuzakku@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Chelsea is going to have to find some midfielders to put on their bench for yellow card management purposes.

[-] BafflingMantis7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Very nice of Colwill to cancel his goal celebration midway despite being his first goal for his boyhood club. Don’t think anyone on Brighton’s side could hold that against him if he instead went full throttle.

[-] cocaine_model@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How did Brighton not get a corner at the end after the VAR review?

Edit: People have explained in the replies how it is the correct call according to the rules, but if the ball clearly goes out immediately and no one had the opportunity to stop it had the foul not been called, I feel like the rule should be to give the corner. (I’m not a Brighton fan either)

[-] JustAboutUpToSpeed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mastermind De Zerbi bringing on the slowest player in the league against Mudryk.

Also Brighton repeated diving in the 2nd half, not that the ref bothered to book them. Joke of a team.

Joke officials too trying to give Brighton a pen for the ball hitting Colwill in the head.

[-] omkic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

In what world was that a drop ball?
