Most of the people that think AI is dangerous and will kill us are not worried about a fucking Skynet or not being able to compete with it.

Were worried about the environmental impact, how much wealth is wasted on it, what happens when the bubble bursts, and it literally sucking up electricity and water people need to survive.

    All very good reasons, but I am also adding loss of skill and opportunities for juniors to learn, and AI often being dangerously incompetent at some tasks and everyone rejecting the responsibility when it is.

    And then there is the extensive use of gen AI-produced slop effortlessly invading every space and making everything suck.

    No, almost nobody "fearing* AI believes Ultron or Skynet will literally enslave/wage war on humanity. If anything I'm sure the ones who believe the most in AI superintelligence supplanting humans are mostly among AI advocates.
