Probably they're using a standard software which automatically adds a generated picture if the admin doesn't provide one themselves.

I think also in the pre AI era pictures on websites and menus often were stock content and not really matching the real dish that's been served. Is it a good thing? No. But is it new? Also not IMHO.

    Here I disagree, a website is really useful and pictures make it more accessible and easier to find what you are looking for.

    Especially if the AI part is clearly labeled as such as in the main screenshot. Furthermore, it's a really modest picture, not nicely decorated. If it was fries on a super stylish plate etc. setting really high expectations I'd be with you, but if they chose a AI picture that looks like their real product, I prefer that over a nicely done photography done by a food stylist, professional photographer etc. to make it look perfect just on the menu. Best is of course a real pic of what I can really expect, but I can see that a small fast food store doesn't have the capacity to do that themselves.
