9 million a year die from starvation, about another 9 million from air pollution, much if it from cars, many 100s of thousands die every year from easily prevented diseases.
Many 10s of 1000s die from heat every year. Before that many 10s of 1000s died from cold
I think it safe to say we literally don't give a shit, while this info is good to know, this will just be another one of those statistics, like the above.
On the flip side, planes run into a building, a couple 1000 killed and the earth will be scorched and trillions spent. we have near zero concept of risk.
