As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

This month is expected to be the busiest September for number of named tropical storms for the Pacific, and half of them were cat4/5.

Also had the 3rd or 4th fastest hurricane on record to go from a tropical storm to cat5.
