What's up with the western politicians' love for genocide?

In Finland, the fear of Russia can override anything.

Also likely some parties in the current government really liked this and the others didn't mind too much. So it was fairly cheap political capital to use in getting something or other also passed. This is how coalition government work, stuff that is important to some gets done when most don't seem to mind

West was always keen on murder who are not them. Not much changed. It because their corrupted feudal history. Then monarchs kept them intentionally crippled and they generally don’t have any sense of community outside of their “village”. This village rhetoric extends to “nations” thanks to tech advancements.

    Context

Finland has been suffering the neofascist plague just like many other countries. The current admin is an unholy coalition of neolibs/conservatives/far-right populists. There's been scandals, they do neither the country nor the people any good, it's the same "we cannot afford social security anymore" bs narrative as practically everywhere else. While big prestige projects get waved through.

Sorry if you believed that all Nordic countries are basically "socialist".

    That said:

    • not only the far right is to blame for this one
    • we still have checks and balances in place
    • I don't think the corrupt far-right idiots are going to get re-elected

It's a dangerous narrative because the premise itself is not entirely untrue, you guys have been increasing national debt and it's already pretty high (as it is for much of EU unfortunately):

But of course the far-right does not offer solutions and instead makes things worse like you said.

Here in Estonia we've had minor cuts like increasing doctors appointment fees for non-recurring visits to specialty doctors and ER from 5€ to 20€ and we've also increased taxation, which is of course widely hated, but we've managed to keep the country going with little increased debt load to bite us in the ass when the next global recession comes (generally you want to increase spending when the recession has already hit to come out of it faster, so it's great to have headroom for taking on debt then).

The current government is utterly shit. Right wing austerity by the capitalist's party with the nationalist party doing what they want, sometimes to the point where it seems that we have two different governments (The Ceuta situation had two completely different reactions from them). The capitalist party PM doesn't mind them as long as he gets to cut from the poor and give to the rich.

Oh, look more proof that hating on Americans is just a part of the class war and distraction from this shit.

Of course we fucking did. We only want shit with kill switches and from questionable countries that can't be trusted! We want to do just about anything to feel safe from Russia other than to buy tools that would actually work when needed..

Which is doubly sad because Finland has both heavy industry and at least some electronics and IT expertise left I'd hope from Nokia. Defense equipment could be Finland's "new Nokia" (here in Estonia we used to always say we need to find Estonia's Nokia, and of course different things were often considered for that title).

    You guys already make these:

    And these:

    And these:

    And so much else.

Sadly we're evaluating David's Sling here in Estonia too apparently. Alternatives being considered are Patriot and SAMP/T which at least is European. Unfortunately our politicians also seem to enjoy appeasing Trump and Netanyahu so it's likely to be either Patriot or David's Sling :/
