This should be a fascinating lawsuit from the point of the testing of the powers of TOS agreements.

Sony says TOS says you don't get ownership, regular contract law would say a reasonable person would expect ownership because consideration was the act of pressing a button that says "purchase" or "buy".

From past contract law, it should be pretty straightforward that purchase means ownership. It will be interesting to see how much TOS comes into play vs resonability.

customers have to click buttons such as "Buy Now" and "Confirm Purchase,"

Language of contracts is highly regulated. All you have to do is pass a law banning confusing language. Instead of "buy" you can say, "lease" or "rent".

But our system is corrupt, so good luck.

Cool cool cool. So I don't "own" the games I "buy" therefore if I reproduce them from someone else's copy it isn't "stealing" due to "lost sales," right?

Sony is in a race with themselves to burn their brand to the ground. Every buttons says “buy”. That suggests ownership. I would say “good fucking luck, Sony” but with how terrible everything is getting, I don’t have high hopes that the consumer will win.

    For the 10 millionth time:

If buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing.
