I’m guessing they’re hiring new employees to replace the old ones — because by now the old ones have likely moved on to other jobs. This means the company lost the institutional knowledge and experience of the previous employee. All in an attempt just to save a few dollars.

    We need some sort of general strike and to take back what labor has built. I'm so tired of assholes who don't do shit and don't know shit calling the shots and keeping the profits.

    This kind of just happened to me. It wasn't really AI per say but they eliminated my role and when things started going sideways they tried to do it themselves with AI and when it blew up they rehired me as a contractor.
