Some guy a long time ago in a cave, probably:

You were born in the one period in human history where you can gaze into the fire all day. Don't waste that opportunity by going outside.

What kind of person just lets their parents work their lives away, while they lay back, and use the computer all day?

I hope we get automation and UBI soon, I have no problem for infinite prosperity for everyone, so long as they are not like total assholes that abuse it. I don't care if they "earn" it, suffering is horrible, and I had enough on my own skin to not want it on anyone (except the Epsteins).

Tangential thought: You were born into the brief window of human history where antibiotics work.

It sure is such a good thing that we provide funding for the sciences in order to continue researching cures for the... what's that you say? We FA and now we're about to FO? That does not sound very fun, like at all...

Shouldn't that be the other way around?

Yes, I fucked up. However, I stand by My mistake. I'm not a billionaire, I'm not to blame for all this stuff. I'm not a carnist and I'm not a car driver. When I get to reap My own produce, it's awesome. But all too often, I'm sowing solutions to other people's problems. Other people drive cars, and then I have to do the work of dealing with the allergies it causes.

I did find this article when I was looking up to see whether anything was being done, and it does offer some hope.

Thus, governments are starting to act and there is much to be optimistic about, not least the fact that most of the NP antibiotics that have been discovered come from a small fraction of the microbes on Earth. With suitable global action, this should lead to a renewed antibiotic pipeline to combat AMR alongside other emergent technologies, such as vaccines, antibody-antibiotic conjugates, probiotics, phage therapy and rapid diagnostics

changes in financial models are required to translate scientific advances into clinically approved antibiotics.

Just gotta get through this brief fall of democracy and capitalism in the Western World first, then we can get right on that...

Sorry, I am no fun today:-(.

Hey let's not be pessimistic. Based on the current societal trajectory we might be living in the best period of history, end of the 20th, beginning of the 21st centuries. We had an amazing life with access to awesome technology for personal use that we didn't have to lease. We weren't under 247 surveillance by corporations. A brief period of technological freedom for a smallish group of humans before we went to corporations authoritarian hell.

Don’t worry they’re taking the tech away from the poors (that being anyone who doesn’t have the capital to build a $10,000 gaming rig in 2026) so pretty soon we can all go outside and protest

Hyper-realistic VR rig so that I can make my indoors feel like outdoors.

(And then in that virtual outdoors, I spend all my time building shelter.)
