I've had a bit of an ongoing mold problem in my bathroom. No matter what i do it comes back with a vengeance. I have bleached, i have scrubbed, I even bought biocide once. I was at a total loss so I told my roommate about it and he asked to see it. I was excited to show him because I thought he was going to impart some wisdom that would help.

I showed him.

This man has been to Afghanistan. He is the calmest man I have ever met. I've only seen him lose his shit once and thats cause maintenance came in one day unannounced.

He lost his mind. He got the same look in his eye as when he recounts one of his enlisted boys being dumb. After a little back and forth, he discovered that I had no idea what black mold is or that a FOUR FOOT BY FOUR FOOT area of mold is. Not Good.

He helped me put in a work order for it but I feel really embarrassed and guilty.

TL;DR: I gave my veteran roommate a flashback to the military by not knowing that black mold is in our apartment or why it's bad.
