So my problem here is that my gaming room is in the basement and i need 4 ethernet cables for my setups.

Router goes into a 5 port switch. Then( from the switch) i have two cables going through my walls to reach my basement.

I was wondering if i put another switch in my basement from one of the cables so i can have 4 new ports available in my basement.

So theres will be a switch connected to the router then another switch connected to the switch that will go in my Pcs and playstation Is that possible or it will not work?

Yes that will work, but make sure it’s a switch. A router will cause issues. In the future though could you title your posts appropriately.

Should be fine. A switch will only route traffic to the ports where it needs to go. It builds a table so it knows what devices are on what ports.

Cascading switches is fine.

Probably a snarky comment
