It's to replace pipelines that go through the US.

I agree it doesn't make sense at the point in time because there's enough renewables. But there shouldn't be any private money in our infrastructure/resources so I disagree on the investor point.

Frankly the US has more money than us so if we look to the private sector then we'll always be bought out and we have seen how little respect they have for our laws/how hostile they are through our existing agreements.
