Just got an apple watch 7 41mm today. Overall love it. But ive heard that the battery is meant to last 18 hours?

It was 50% when i opened it, and it got to 20% in 6 hours (mind me that it was hardly used. On my wrist and glanced at with always on display.

Honestly that didnt really bug me, however i slapped it on charge until 80% and just saw it go from 70% to 66% in the matter of minutes.

BH is 97%, so it it just the case if watchOS 10 bugs? Will it get better?

I also got my Apple Watch 7 41mm last week! Drain was bad for a few days. It seems better now. Charging is really fast though so I don’t mind even needing to top it up a bit if I have to go out while I get ready. Anyhow workout battery drain is way better now than last week so I’m assuming it just calibrated properly. I’m sure your battery will adjust itself too.☺️

Charging is painfully slow on mine. Use it with an apple usb c brick and it takes around 30 minutes to charge 60%.

The 10.2 beta 3 is looking good though, might update ti that. People have reported the battery is much better on it

oh really? what adapter? 20W?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Yup. The 20W adapter.

Its honestly very annoying. I updated to 10.2 beta 3 in hopes for better battery life and will update once i go bed and let sleep tracking do its thing.

Took off charge an hour ago at 86% and its 76% as of now. So seems ok but it might drain quicker.

I could try a battery recalibration but doubt it would do anything

make sure it's updated. OS 10 was bad on battery. and battery is bad after every update. give it a few days.

Mine also drains overnight now. The battery got worse than the last update. Before it would stay charged ready for the next day

5 months old S8 with WatchOS 10.1.1 here. Battery health 100% and I'm experiencing massive battery drain in the past 3 days.

I used to charge only in the morning from ~30% to 100%. Yesterday I had 20% left in the evening and recharged to 100%. Woke up with 45%. Recharged again to 100% and did a factory reset and restored from backup, lost 20% charge in two hour afterwards. I did another factory reset, this time without restoring from backup, still 10% drain per hour, even with always-on disabled, what worked like a charm until 3 days ago.

Yeah, WatchOS 10 is definitely a drop from WatchOS 9, but it was still useable levels on my Series 7 until 10.1.1 (ironically this version was supposed to fix people with massive battery issues), and now i'm not making it much past 12 hours with Always On Display turned on and no major usage.

The bad news is I also went to the 10.2 beta a few days ago and its no better.

10.2 beta 3?

Im updating now as searching online people do say they notice it performing better.

Does it still suck ass?
