Y’all had parents that stayed together?

Yeah and it was terrible

My bf and I go thrifting almost every week and we always get milkshakes on the way home and then do a fashion show. He always goes “omg that’s so cute!” or “Your butt looks so good in that!”. Thrifting days are usually the highlight of my week.

I wish that was my experience. I have to come up with unique responses for every article of clothing at a rate of like 1 per minute.

Thrifting is mentally exhausting for me.

Jeez yeah that’s tough. My bf and I have already agreed I’m the wordy, talkative one. Even if he is kinda repetitive, I can see in his eyes what he appreciates and what he’s less enthusiastic about and I appreciate his participation and validation nonetheless.

That's the way ours is. But her anxiety tells her that I'm not talking much because I'm upset with her.

I'm not happy with her past relationships for giving her that anxiety (she's working on it, so I'm not unhappy with her).

I remember when i had to manage someone else's emotions on top of my own. Good times

I still do this for my wife and kids. It is a proper dad thing to do and it makes them happy.

My wife shops by slowly going through each section and trying on up to 20 items to keep 1 or 2. Takes 2-3 hours per store.

I know the what size and style my kids like to wear and skim through the store in under 10 minutes (they have very different preferences). Full school shopping would usually take 1-2 hours across 3-4 stores.

By the time they were 5 years old both of them refused to go clothes shopping with my wife.

Long story short, my wife always got the fashion show when we got home.

Now that they have gotten older my kids should be able to go shopping by themselves and not bother me but no... They drag me with them. "Its faster" they say.

Tactical shopping. Park the car at 15:00, clothing store at 15:05, shoe shop at 15:12, juice boxes in the food court at 15:20.

Your parents gave a shit?

[-] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago

My parents are lesbians…

That aside most of the dads I knew growing up would’ve participated in the shopping excursion.

Lol when you said 'brought you shopping' my head was thinking it was only the mom shopping. Not that my mother brought me shopping with her and only bought her clothes or groceries...

Huh, I’ve never done that. The thought to do that never even occurred to me. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed shopping more if my family tried this.
