I work in electronics manufacturing, and this is matching what I’ve seen, especially for DRAM, but it’s starting to get into every component, even printed circuit board laminates. The hyperscalers are going to manufacturers of basically every component they need and starting to run up the supply chain all the way to raw materials and buying essentially all of the capacity for their own use.

I just watched the GN teardown and its a completely standard SODIMM stick so i doubt it would cause problems. The bigger issue is that you have to take it almost completely apart to get to the RAM slots.

Oh... I was simply implying mouth breathers would buy that box and then whine when it won't play their games because...
It ain't got no RAM in it...
I never even considered how much of a PITA it would be to install... but yeah, that's a valid point too
sadly ram isn't the only part with a hyper-inflated price anymore... storage and gpu for example would still have a large contribution to the overall price.
