Some of those trees were older than the xtian god.
The way some people can destroy a tree without even thinking about it feels me with so much rage and sadness.
But their god is money.

Yep. Just like all the buffalo hide pelts turned into machine belts. All that is sacred is profaned, all that is solid melts into air.

So grotesque to the point they would kill the buffalo, take the hides and tongue, and leave the corpses to rot in the sun.
These poachers were often protected by the military, and received permission to lodge at military outposts.
Upwards of 50 million buffalo were living across the plains region, diminished to roughly 1000 after 20 years.
Rivers of lead poured into molds to cast the bullets just to kill all those animals. The scale of what happened in the Americas will never cease to chill me.
