I've been asked by a friend who was sexually assaulted at the regional burn to write up a piece about consent.

She has a meeting Monday with some of the higher ups, and writing is not her superpower.

I want to help, but I feel ill-equipped to write something of that magnitude. As such, resources would be helpful to combine into a coherent narrative.

She had a bag of snacks around her ass, and a guy reached up and grabbed her by the pussy. The Monday meeting is about identifying the guy, but we want a solid argument.

    —Also big Burn has resources

    —I assume the audience for the piece will be bystanders and potential allies, so just as you mentioned you don’t have a lot of info to help survivors, the information that helps you support people is most valuable (ie: strength in numbers).

    This includes things like active listening and emotional validation.

    Yeah, Consent is Like Tea was actually one of the first things I was linked to, No shade; it's a good video.

    The thing in my situation is I can't assume the audience. When I was a baby burner, I didn't know about the darker side. I likely need to talk with her further to determine angle. She'd be the first to tell you that she has Dori memory.

    Yeah, Consent is Like Tea was actually one of the first things I was linked to, No shade; it's a good video.

    We were required to watch it in university during orientation. It didn't stop one of the fraternities from being known for, uh, stuff at parties, but it explains the concept well at least.
