Hallway Render (thelemmy.club)

I modeled out a glass block and I wanted to use it in a scene. This what I came up with.

Why do I have a feeling Picard and Data are going to exit one of those doors mid conversation?

Star trek wasn't in my reference photos but I can see it.

They're wrong, it would be Nog and Jake coming down this corridor.

You ever think that Nog would say to a girl that's angry about him talking to other girls that "[she] can't hog the Nog"?

I dig the vibe. The scale of the glass blocks is hard to discern; if this was a real hallway I'd add a few subtle cues - power outlets, people, trash cans or water fountains... I dig the backlighting on the glass, great touch. Might bring the lighting down a few notches overall to accentuate the glass block backlighting and the blue-stripe lighting on the other side. Great stuff.

oh and something - a door, a plant, a sculpture, a wall hanging - something needs to live at the end of that hallway / focal point you're creating.

Thank you for the feedback. I should have help with sense of scale. I let lazy win out and was digging the vibe so I sent it.

I was thinking of puttong posters up but I was drawing a blank on what type of posters.

you could turn the alcoves / hallways on the left into slots where arcade machines are nestled in; then use the flat walls for video game posters. I'd still find something to put at the end of the hallway tho posters there won't read due to scale....

if this is a movie theater, I'd expect upcoming film posters....

Neat design. What did you use to render it?

[-] notptr@lemmy.cyberia9.org 5 points 1 week ago

I used blender with the cycles engine

I’m just getting started with blender. This gives me some excitement. Thanks !!

The 80s arcade carpet is chef's kiss.

The waiting area before going into a massive laser tag arena.

I am really digging the liminal vibes here. As another commenter noted, the carpet is a great pick!

Feels like a location in a 90s point and click adventure game.

Totally would've thought this was a liminal space. Nice render.

It feels familiar. The carpet was a great choice. Feels like a 90s tech university building.
