How do I send Apple store credit to someone in another country? (alien.top)

Hi!
I want to send a friend living in another country some Apple store credit as a gift.
However, I have heard that Apple cards bought in retail can only be applied in one´s own country?
Can someone please tell me whether it is even possible?
Thanks!

P.S.: I do not have an Apple device myself...

I’ve been gifted apple/iTunes vouchers before and could only use it by using the store from the location it was bought in.

I’d suggest buying them from the Amazon store of the country they’re in and have the physical card delivered so you know it’ll be all good 👍
